Lauren Stanley has to unlock the secret of her past

Discovering what happened the night her mother died is the only way she'll ever have a normal life.  So she travels to Peru to find a mysterious doctor named Armando Torres--a man who is more than a doctor and has reasons of his own to keep the past buried.  But before Lauren can find him, an "accident" has her forgetting everything she's ever known...

After a decade away, Greer Bell is returning to Loveless County, hoping for a reconciliation with her family--one that includes their acceptance of her nine-year-old daughter, Shelby.  Thanks to the local land-grant program, Greer's also the new owner of a dilapidated property she's turning into a guest ranch.  She's risking her financial future on it.

But she's risking more than that on Noah Kelley, the man who wants to marry her despite the town's disapproval and all her efforts to discourage him.  Shelby, however, is definitely in favor of having Noah as her dad--and sometimes kids know best.

After her husband is killed in a barn fire, Robbie McBride Tellchick is left alone to raise three boys--and the baby on the way.  With the fire still under investigation, she can't even depend on the insurance money.  She can, however, depend on Zack Trueblood, a firefighter who claims he wants to help Robbie through her pregnancy--and beyond.

It's well-known in the town of Five Points, Texas, that Zack's ambition is to be a landowner.  His growing feelings for Robbie seem more than sincere, but she has to wonder what kind of man wants to raise someone else's child.  Does he want the land she can no longer afford to keep?

Or does he want Robbie?
 

Ally Cummings may be the only "normal" one in her family, but her love life is anything but.  No sooner does she find a stable, secure, predictable guy than she wants out.  She's through with romance until she can figure out what kind of man is right for her.

Certainly not her new tenant, Ben Gillard, who is the exact opposite of everything Ally's looking for.  Suits him just fine.  He's sworn off a social life so he can be a full-time dad to his twelve-year-old-son, Danny.  And he doesn't need any more women "organizing" his life, especially not the uptight and prim Ally.

It's agreed, platonic friends is as far as this will go.  Except it's not just his skill with a sauté pan that's creating the sizzle between them...

She had to tell a lie...but that still hadn't stopped Detective St. James from coming around and asking Laura questions about the murder of her ex-husband.  He seemed to see right through her when she said she didn't know anything about the notorious madam, Anna Kolnikov, either.  What good would it do to admit the dead woman had helped Laura turn her life around?  It wouldn't help protect her daughter from the mob.  In fact, the anonymous phone calls had started as soon as St. James first flashed her his badge.  She'd have to find a way to lose him soon.  Before his inexplicable obsession with Anna cost Laura everything.
