Carrie Weaver attributes her success as a romance novelist to a love of reading, a willingness to learn and perseverance.
Born and raised in Arizona, she received her bachelor’s degree from Northern Arizona University.
After leaving her career as a claims adjuster to stay home with her young children, Carrie started writing romance novels while her children slept. She joined Romance Writers of American in 1995 and sold her first novel in 1999 to Kensington Publishing.
Carrie began writing for the Harlequin Superromance line in 2003, with four books scheduled for release:
THE ROAD TO ECHO POINT, December 2003
THE SECOND SISTER, August 2004
THE SECRET WIFE, May 2005
Title TBA, December 2005
THE SECOND SISTER received a 4 ˝ star gold medal ribbon review from RT Bookclub Magazine, the highest rating available. RT reviewer Christine Merrill notes Weaver’s novel contains “realistic characters, strong emotion and an ending that is neither pat nor cliched...a top-notch tear jerker.”
Carrie considers this high praise, indeed, because, “my goal is to create a fresh story and characters so real the reader is drawn into their journey, leaving everything else behind. Escape from day-to-day troubles is probably the greatest gift an author can give.”
As in real life, family and pets play an important role in her stories. When life gets crazy – as it frequently does with two active boys, a dog and three cats – this author finds sanctuary in reading and writing.
