Be a Star in Your Life

I think my dog, Misha, the German Shepherd-mix rescue from Moscow, Russia, knew I had to write a blog this morning. He woke me up very early by one perfectly calibrated leap onto the bed, accompanied by an annoying "bark!"
The good side of this is that I'm writing the blog, and better yet, I was up in time to catch the sunrise as it hit the flowers in my garden.
Summer as a kid meant long, hot days that stretched out for  weeks. So I don't understand how it's gotten to be one of my busiest times of the year. (I apologize to all dear readers in the Southern Hemisphere, or in equatorial regions). It's insane--book deadline, blog, book launch, start a new book, be a spouse, Mom, daughter, sister, friend...I'm preaching to the choir, I know. Yet still, amidst it all, I read. Always, I read. And when I read, I can take a deeper breath, hear the birds singing, and enjoy my first espresso with the blooms.
Aren't you glad you're a reader?

I am enjoying your daily read on Harlequin.

I don't know what I would do if I couldn't read. I love gardening as well but reading is such a basic necessity for me.

love the petunia. Is it black?
I do love to read, too.

Tammy, I agree, I'm so grateful I'm a reader. I don't get folks who say "I don't read." As if it's boring! Thanks for the compliment, Kaelee. I loved writing that story, too. Cathryn, my garden is bigger than what you see and um, not as successful in some areas as the ones I took the photos of! :) It'd be great to have a cup of coffee together out there, though. Linda, yes, the petunia is almost black, very unique. I wasn't sure they'd take off as they're newer, but it's thriving.

I couldn't not read. It keeps me sane. It's always been my go to stress relief.

I read so many things, each and every day. I try to squeeze in romance reading as, after all, who can't use more romance in their lives? There are newspapers, magazines, text messages, emails, and of course blogs too, to mention but a few things. So, yes, I am very glad to be a reader.
I had a scare with my eyes a few years back. We can't take them for granted, ya know. I am SOOOO grateful for my eyesight (such as it is).
Thank you for sharing, both your blog (beautiful) and your book (generous!).

I'm usually up very early in Summer to try and get everything done before the heat strikes.

I love to read and can be found with a book or my ereader almost every evening. I almost always wake up when the sun rises, BUT if I'm very tired (been up until the wee hours reading or my asthma is bothering me) and I don't get up and out of the bed, I can go back to sleep! That is a pretty cool petunia. I've never seen one like it.

Reading is one of life's great pleasures--I can't imagine a life without it or without books! How dreary that would be!

Gardening on the other hand, is something that I admire, but don't enjoy doing ;)

Also, about that petunia...yes, it's black, but I've noticed it's getting more purple as the summer wears on, and the yellow stars are getting smaller. Maybe because I don't feed my plants..bad plant mommy!!! I have enjoyed the different petunias this year, though. Thanks for all of your comments. You rock!
