So I've been daydreaming...if I had a plane ticket (or a time-travel machine), which beach would I transport myself to?
How about Waikiki Beach in Hawaii, with the surfers and the high-rise hotels?
Or the Cape Cod National Seashore in July?
Here is the sea around Santorini, Greece. I've never swum there, but I can imagine.
A beach near Naples, Florida:
I think I would choose my local beach, Hampton Beach, New Hampshire, during the month of August.
How about you? If you could take a February beach break, where would you like to go?

I'm thinking Hawaii. Ahhhhhhhh. Beautiful.
I think I'm up for a trip to the Caribbean :)
I would be on the beach in Pompano Beach, FL... I long for it looking out my window in ground covered in white stuff..SNOW... I long for sand between my toes..
We actually had a beach visit last week, in Quepos, Costa Rica. (You can see a pic here: http://www.costaricaforless.com/destinations/destinations-quepos-manuel-antonio.php)
My first time swimming in the Pacific. The big surprise: how WARM that water was!
From MarcieR
Siesta Key in Sarasota Florida
My kids like to go to Crystal Cove near Laguna Beach, CA. It has enough surf that they can boogie board, but not so much that mom worries. My husband's cousin lives down there so we go every so often.
I could use some warm weather. Consistently warm weather. I'm tired of bundling up in the am, sweating in the afternoon and freezing again in the evening. We have temps of about 38F in the morning before school, it gets in the high 60s by the time school gets out and then drops into the 40s when the sun goes down. No wonder I feel a little scatterbrained lately.
Hawaii is nice, but I grew up in a beach town, so I have to give Santa Barbara, CA some love. It is a very pretty beach town
LOL, I'm always at a beach or near a beach :) Water is cold here in Hawaii right now (though I guess not so cold as elsewhere). I go to Punalu'u black sand beach or Waimanalo or anywhere I can find a good spot to sit and read or swim.
Laney, Rogenna, Kathleen...oh yes, to all three! It has been far too long since I've had sand between my toes!
Kris, I visted the url...wow! That is so beautiful. (The whitewater rafting looked fun, too!)
MarcieR, I had to look up Siesta Key because I'd heard about it lately. Thanks! This looks beautiful.
Kristina and Tammy...yes, I love California! Before my dh was my dh, we traveled to Laguna on business...and fell in love. We didn't get as far north as Santa Barbara, but...someday!
LOL, Snookie! I'll take the black sand beach today. ;) I've never been to one of those!
I wouldn't have to go far to reach my favorite beach which is Padre Island National Seashore which is along the Texas coast.
The black sand beach is a good choice :) There are sea turtles that come up and bask on the beach :)
I live near beaches, but it's been so gray and dreary outside for months now here, so I'd be good anyplace with sunshine. Bright springtime can't come soon enough.
Definitely Hawaii. We have around 5 inches of snow outside right now. I told my daughter that someone should shoot the groundhog because obviously winter is NOT over yet.
I would like to go to Hawaii :)
I'd like to go to Hawaii too.
DD, dsil and grandbaby are just back from Hawaii and ds is going there next week. But, I'll stay home this time of year as Spring is sprung here. My crocuses and snowdrops are blooming and the daffodils are showing color. I just love the time when winter turns into Spring.
We've been house bound with beyond belief torrential rain. QLD just can't seem to catch a break. One thing though, the countryside is green as.
We are headed up to the Sunshine Coast in April. Always picture perfect.
Right now I would take any beach anywhere warm. The beach I remember most fondly is on the south side of New Providence Island, near Nassau in the Bahamas. Chrystal clear water that you could walk out in for a long ways before it got deep and the little fish would swim around your toes. It was just wonderful.
Thank you all for your comments! I enjoyed imagining all the various places. Sunshine is coming!
I drew some names from the random number generator, and I'm posting the "book giveaway" winners on the main blog page now...
