Are You an Ellen or a Jeannie?

Girl Ellen liked basketball,
tube socks, and pony tails
Girl Jeannie liked hanging
around on the uneven bars
with no socks
Please take the following quiz to determine if you are more like Superromance author Ellen Hartman or Jeannie Watt.
Because there's a prize involved. Keep track of your answers, then follow the scoring directions at the end. If you're a writer, you might get ideas for a character inventory.

1) When I’m writing/reading/studying I prefer:
a) silence

b) music

2) In the morning, I’m:

a) out of bed as early as possible, eager to face the day, even on the weekends
b) often out of bed early enough, but always reluctantly and with much regret

3) In the evening, I’m:

a) in bed by nine—if I can stay up that late.

b) just hitting my stride. Who wants to play some Twister?

4) When I hit the big city, I like to:

a) find a bar and have a pint of local beer.

b) find the nearest Macy’s and go shopping and then have a pint of local beer.

c) false

6) I______ Gallipoli-like endings:

a) avoid at all costs

b) embrace

7) I work best under pressure.

True. But I hate this about myself and fantasize about being ahead of schedule.
b) True. But I create that pressure by putting things off or taking on too many projects.

(c) False.

8) When faced with a computer challenge, I:

a) eat something sweet and then locate a teen to fix the problem.

b) roll up my sleeves and fire up Google to solve it myself.

9) The best dancing song ever is:

a) Abba’s Dancing Queen

b) Abba’s Dancing Queen

10) I prefer my exercise to come in the form of:
a) walking the dog, preferably if it's warm and light so I can read a book while we amble.

b) running down a country road (on purpose--not being chased by a wild bull)

11) When I see barbecued goat on the menu, I am reminded of:

a) my wedding  (nothing like cabrito to celebrate a union)

b) how much I enjoy pasta

12) Pick one of the following. (We leave it up to you to decide what to do with him once you pick him.)

a) Dean Winchester

b) Raylan Givens

(c) who are these guys?

13) High heels:

a) Absolutely not

b) Have their uses

14) All-time greatest movie musical:

a) The Sound of Music

b) Singing in the Rain

15) The hero type I can’t resist:

a) single dad

b) stoic cowboy

Bonus. The last song/album I bought is most like:
(a) Baby, by Justin Bieber

(b) Anything at all by Eric Clapton
Each answer selection is followed by a J or an E. If you have more J’s, you’re more like Jeannie. If you have more E’s, you’re more like Ellen.
1. (a) J (b) E;  2. (a) J (b) E;  3. (a) J (b) E;  4. (a) E (b) J;  5. (a) J (b) E (C) no points;  6. (a) J (b) E;  7. (a) E (b) J; (c) no points;  8 (a) J (b) E;   9. (a) J (b) E;  10. (a) E (b) J;  11. (a) J (b) E; 12. (a) E (b) J (c) no points;  13. (a) E (b) J; 14. (a) E (b) J;  15. (a) E (b) J;  Bonus: (a) E (b) J

If you are a Jeannie, you are energetic—until late afternoon, at which time you need to recharge or you slowly fade. Your creativity is most active during the morning hours. You are easily distracted and need silence in order to focus, unless you’re doing housework, when you need music or TV to help you survive the ordeal.

Your nature is contradictory—you like to dress up and wear high heels, but are equally comfortable in disreputable jeans and a flannel shirt working on a barbed wire fence.  You enjoy being physically active, but your favorite pastimes are sedentary. You like hiking and shopping equally well.

Your tastes run toward classic rock, classic television and classic movies. You love a good cowboy story especially ones with a modern twist, such as Justified. You like stoic, sometimes unpredictable heroes with a sense of humor.

You are not super comfortable with technology, but find the internet an excellent way to procrastinate.  You work best under pressure and if you have just enough to do, you take on one extra project to create pressure.

You like your beer dark and your endings happy.

If you are an Ellen, you're more familiar with brunch than you are with dawn and you're most energetic after dark. You're a natural multi-tasker so you need to occupy part of your brain with music to get the focus you need for writing or studying. On the rare occasion that you pick up the dust cloth or window cleaner, you turn the music up louder to drown out your internal protest that you were meant for the pampered life.

You like life comfortable and uncomplicated. A good beer, a bowl of homemade ravioli, your favorite jeans, and a ramble with your best four-legged friend are all right in your comfort zone. That's not to say you don't like exploring new cities or a night on the town, you're just likely to seek out the local hang outs and wear a reliable favorite when you go.

High-tech is a comfortable tool and you enjoy the puzzle of working out new ways to accomplish tasks. Pressure helps you focus and sparks your energy and creativity, but you can't help thinking there must be a more efficient way to get things done.

Your taste in music runs to pop, your favorite movies include wounded men (even Captain Von Trapp was sad before Maria came along), and you prefer your heroes (romance and television) to be care takers, even if they drive muscle cars and shoot pool (or shotguns loaded with rock salt).

Please share in the comment section whether you are a Jeannie or an Ellen. We have a bet, you see, and the winner gets a pint of local beer in the pub of their choice the next time we’re together in the same city. And you, my  friends, have a chance to win a $20 Amazon gift card. We're looking forward to hearing from you.

Feel free to add your own defining question or description of your "character." We love getting to know everyone better.

Huh. There's something wrong with me, because I answered B (or C!) to pretty much every question! I was thinking, "This is easy, I'm exactly the same as one of them!"
Turns out I'm just strange.

I was a gymnast though, if that tips me more in one direction!

Ellen Hartman said...

Hi Sonya,

You're not strange. Jeannie and I are too similar to really have an effective me vs. her quiz. ;-)

Please tell me you didn't answer C to #12. That's one of the most important questions in the quiz.

Thanks for playing. Feel free to go back and adjust your answers so you come out on my side. I'm really looking forward to my free beer that Jeannie's going to owe me.

Diana Holquist said...

"When I see barbecued goat on the menu, I am reminded of:

a) my wedding (nothing like cabrito to celebrate a union)

b) how much I enjoy pasta"

I'm dying of laughter! This is exactly you guys in a nutshell!

I am much more a Jeannie, but I always wear socks. Even to bed. I think that makes it a tie.

Ellen Hartman said...

Diana!! I said nothing about wearing my tube socks to bed. Ew.

If I have to buy the beer because of you, you're in BIG trouble.

P.S. Goat...seriously. ;-)

Jeannie Watt said...

Sonya--Being a gymnast definitely tips you in my direction! And like Ellen said, we are a wee bit similar, so it was hard to come up with effective questions--although I believe heels are a huge chasm between us. (And for the record, I don't like the feel so much as the look and being way tall.) Thanks for taking the quiz!

Uh--that would be one for me, Ellen.

Jeannie Watt said...

Diana--I wear socks to bed!
By the way, it's good to see you. Thanks for posting.

Ellen Hartman said...

Wait a minute.

I'll give you Diana, because I'm done with that traitor anyway. (What use is a critique partner who won't lie on an Internet quiz for you?)

But Sonya clearly said she's a mix.

I think the score is now E-0, J-1, and Tie-1.

Whoa! i'm Jeannie's twin! Almost all of mine were J's. And the description fit me almost to a "T" Only thing is my best writing time is around 4-7 in the evening when I get my second wind. It's the worst for the family though. One day, I will write such brilliance and it will be because no one is asking me for help with homework or what's for dinner. When that day comes, you will all know that the Talley kids have finally grown up and moved away.

Fun quiz!

EllenToo said...

I'm not a whole lot like either of you because on so many of the questions my answer was "d"none of the above....however I am more an ELLEN than a Jeannie...

mary sullivan said...

Wow, I can't believe how much I'm like Jeannie. I wear socks to bed, too, but only in winter--and they definitely aren't tube socks.

Ellen, I like you, I really, really do, but a LOT of my answers were the same as Jeanie's. Sorry. Can't wait to see who wins a free beer ;-)

Anonymous said...

Now, I am confused too. Including the bonus question, I got 9 Ellens and 7 Jeannies. But, i would weight the Raylan Given question higher (I love Justified) So, to me it's a tie. And I wear socks to bed too. But, if you need a win, Ellen feel free to take it. I did get more of your answers.

Ellen Hartman said...

Tammy--you're not trying to give me some kind of pity vote are you?

Ellen Hartman said...

I have to run to work and so will be back to comment more later.

I do have one question before I go.

Exactly how many of you had barbecued GOAT at your weddings?

I thought for sure that question was going to clinch the win for me.

Excuse me now while I go look at my pictures of Dean Winchester and feel sorry for myself.

Chelle Sandell said...

Okay...so you both know I love you. Right? RIGHT?! Seriously...I had 7 J's and 8 E's with a question that could be an either/or. *sigh* I've already offered to buy the beer if you come to Oklahoma. ;)

Rula Sinara said...

You two sure know how to have fun! I'll buy you both a beer at the next meeting ;) I did have some E's, but I'm defintely a Jeannie...down to wearing socks to bed. Sorry Ellen!

Anonymous said...

Not a pity vote, Ellen, And I would never eat a goat - so I am firmly on team Ellen now. (But,I am going to watch Justified tonight to get my Raylan fix)

jcp said...

I am an Ellen.

Jeannie Watt said...

Ellen--I will take Diana--happily, because I think she's more of a Jeannie. I will also concede a tie on Sonya, but only to keep it sporting.

Jeannie Watt said...

Liz--High five twin sister! That homework thing is a double edged sword. For a long time it feel as if homework (and organized kid sports) will never end and then one day--boom--no homework, no organized kid sports. It's kind of poignant and freeing at the same time.

Jeannie Watt said...

Ellen Too--sigh* I suspected that as an Ellen you might be an Ellen. We should have added a teaching question. That might have tipped the scales.

Jeannie Watt said...

Yay, Mary! I only wear socks to bed in the winter, too. If I didn't, my husband would probably insist because I have ice cube feet.

Jeannie Watt said...

Tammy--I think Raylan is worth three points.

As to the goat--our roommate at the time of our wedding was from east Texas. His girlfriend was from Louisiana. These two could cook, so they cooked all the wedding food. We had a goat in the ground and brisket on the grill and lots and lots of beans. Quite a feast.

Jeannie Watt said...

Chelle--I hope to take you up on the Oklahoma beer. My great great grandparents were Sooners and are buried in Pond Creek, OK.

Jeannie Watt said...

Rula--there was never a doubt in my mind that you were a Jeannie. Looking forward to your beer, too.

Jeannie Watt said...

A Score Update:

Close. Very close. Tied in fact at Ellen-4 Jeannie-4. Sonya may have to take the quiz again.

Linda Henderson said...

I'm more like Ellen but actually Jeannie wasn't far behind. As far as the bonus, I'd much rather hear Daughtry or Lady Gaga. She may be out there, but I do enjoy her music. I have the coldest feet so I too wear socks to bed.

Kristina Mathews said...

According to the quiz I'm more like Ellen, but according to the description I'm a lot like Jeannie. And Ellen.

I think I'd like to have a pint with both of you.

Mary Brady said...

I'm 2 Ellen for every 1 Jeannie, though I'd be interested in knowing if either of you is an "I don't have time to take a quiz right now" left and came back two minutes later because you can never resist taking a quiz??

Needless to say, I love the quiz idea.

Laney4 said...

More than double of the ELLEN answers than the Jeannie. Definitely an ELLEN!

One notable difference is that I prefer silence because I often read written work out load, especially when editing. I love music playing otherwise, though.

I have worn socks on occasion to bed, but lately they have caused foot cramps several times a night, so no more wearing them for me. Back to being a freezer from the knees down and an oven from the knees up (re hot flashes). Life is grand....

Ellen Hartman said...

Hey Liz--if you'd come out on my side, I'd have suspected cheating. You have WAY too much energy to fit into my side of things.

On the other hand, I long to write during that 4-7 stretch as well. I think it's like my "morning." I can feel the good ideas seeping out of me while I boil water and help people sharpen pencils.

Someday...you and me will be writing our masterpieces right around dinner time. ;-)

Ellen Hartman said...

High-five, twin! (Who cares what your answers were, we Ellens must stick together.)

Maybe we'll swing through Texas for a nightcap after our Oklahoma beer. If Jeannie hasn't fallen asleep on me, that is.

Ellen Hartman said...

Mary--I will forgive you for diverting a vote to the Jeannie side. This time. Next time there is a quiz, remember my benevolence.

Ellen Hartman said...

Chelle!!! Yes!

Eight E's is exactly right! Who cares about that one that could go either way. (I'm assuming it wasn't the goat.)

We are on our way to Oklahoma and Jeannie has her two dollars ready to buy the beer.

Ellen Hartman said...

Rula, Rula, Rula...Have you seen DEAN WINCHESTER?

How could you desert us for Jeannie, a goat, and socks in bed?

Sometimes I really don't understand the world, you know?

P.S. I seem to remember Jeannie in costume the last time we shared a beer at the eHQ pajama party. I wonder what she'll wear the next time?

Ellen Hartman said...

Tammy, glad we have things cleared up now.

Dean will wait while you watch whatever that other show is. You can find us at the bar later, drinking on Jeannie's tab.

Ellen Hartman said...

JCP!! Thank you very much. You have excellent taste and admirable habits.

Ellen Hartman said...

Hi Linda,

I like Gaga. I didn't when I first heard her, but she's grown on me since then.

Thanks for bringing in the votes!

Ellen Hartman said...

Kristina--you're welcome to join us for a pint. Jeannie is buying...if she ever drags herself out of Macy's.

The funny thing about writing these questions and answers was that Jeannie and I are really pretty close on lots of things. We had to look at the details to find the differences.

If I'd known about the socks in bed question, we could have used one that was so clear cut.

Yay, Team Ellen.

Ellen Hartman said...

Hi Mary,

I also love quizzes. I posted a warm-up quiz on my Facebook page last night ostensibly to get people practice, but really because I love quizzes.

Glad you came back. (I can use the votes.) ;-)

Ellen Hartman said...

Thank you for bringing the E's!

I actually edit in silence, too. I wish I remembered to read out loud more often because that's such a good technique.

(I'm not addressing the hot flash issue because I'm trying very hard to pretend I don't know what a hot flash is so they won't happen to me. I'll let you know how this works.)

Ellen Hartman said...

Here's another difference: I stink at math and Jeannie doesn't.

If any of you see her fudging the counts, please alert me.

Jeannie Watt said...

Uh, math. Yeah. My daughter took the quiz and emailed me that she was 33% Ellen and 67% Jeannie. But, since she didn't post, we can't count her. The goat was one of the questions where she sided with Ellen. She was relieved to hear that I didn't eat the goat.

I'm beginning to get that Denver Broncos last Sunday feeling here. Come on, people. There has to be a few more Js out there.

JV said...

My Es outweighed my Js by more than 3 to 1, with a few tossed in there that were toss-ups (where I couldn't decide). So, I guess that means I'm an Ellen.

And I have to admit to answering "c" to question 13. Didn't have a clue who either of them was. What does that say about me, other than that I tend to watch CBS?

Jeannie Watt said...

Hi JV--A c to question 13 means that you are missing out on Justified. Oh, and some show called Supernatural. (Just kidding, Ellen. Both are great shows.)

If things continue as they are, I will have to bask in my uniqueness, lol.

Jeannie Watt said...

And buy a beer. But it's not over yet. By the way, Ellen--when is it over? When the next day's blog goes up?

JV said...

Oh, and no goats on the menu at my wedding or anywhere else around me, thank you very much!

And I do have to admit that, on the question about arriving in a new town, I wouldn't drink a beer at all. Despite my best efforts to learn to like them, I just don't. However, I wouldn't find a Macy's, either, unless I was hard-pressed to find a gift for someone, and even then I'd probably do my shopping on the internet if possible and, if not, at Sam's Club or Target. However, I would stop in that local pub and down an iced tea or a wine cooler or something!

Summer said...

I'm mostly an Ellen, except I do love my Raylan and my heels.

Cathryn Parry said...

You two crack me up--this was such a fun idea. I'm 40% Jeannie (must be the gymnastics and the classic movies). I'm 60% Ellen because I'm a night owl and like high tech. Who's winning, btw? :)

Jeannie Watt said...

Uh...I'm winning. Yeah. Because Ellen is bad at math.

Ellen Hartman said...

Wait a minute....EllenToo...you must be good at math. Help!

Somebody step in here because while I'm not much of a statician, I sure can see a LANDSLIDE when it's coming my way.

emmad said...

I'm another Ellen ;) Great questions lol
did get a few J's coming up though as I am a morning person as well.

Jeannie Watt said...

11 to 4 with Ellen in a commanding lead. It's the goat, right? I didn't eat any. Honest.

Kay Stockham said...

LOL you guys crack me UP!

Ellen, love you, sweetie, but apparently I'm a Jeannie. The high heels, Justified, and shopping tipped the scales. ;)

Kay Stockham said...

LOL you guys crack me UP!

Ellen, love you, sweetie, but apparently I'm a Jeannie. The high heels, Justified, and shopping tipped the scales. ;)

PatriciaW said...

Funny. I'm equal parts Ellen and Jeannie. Really.

And sorry Ellen, I did answer (c) to #12. So maybe that makes me more Jeannie?

Rogenna Brewer said...

LOL-what a fun post! I know how I stack up, but I am not taking sides

Jeannie Watt said...

Patricia--Yes, you are definitely a Jeannie. And so is Kay and her twin sister Kay. Notice how they simultaneously posted? Twins are like that. So that makes it 7-11. Cool.

Kaelee said...

I'm an Ellen but I have eaten goat on more than one occasion but not at my wedding. It's a bit of a staple in Caribbean food. I haven't cooked any yet.

I love trying out local beer ~ the darker the better as far as I'm concerned.

I did open this up to find a quiz and had to leave it until now with some time to do it. I got to have lots of chuckles reading all the posts. Yeah me!

Rula Sinara said...

Ellen, Ellen, Ellen. You had me at Dean. I do think he's cuter than Raylan...but now Raylan's character...

However, you lost a point on stoic cowboy because I can have my stoic cowboy AND he can happen to be a single dad...although it'll most likely be a surprise, suddenly single dad thing ;)

Ellen Hartman said...

Hold on. Kay doesn't have a twin.

Is the INTERNET trying to help Jeannie?

(Emphasis on "trying.")

EllenToo said...

Ellen-- although I never taught math I did have to do grades so I got pretty good at math and I figure Ellens are ahead of Jeannies.
Just thought I also weigh in on the goat question....I have eaten goat but not at a wedding ~ my grandfather was well known in the town where he lived for his barbeque and goat was one of his favorites...it was pretty good until I learned what it really was but then I was on around 5 or 6 at the time.

JV said...

Ellen, my sympathies. I had what I thought was barbecued beef at my aunt's house once. Only later did I find out it was barbecued groundhog. I'm still scarred over that!

Jackie S. said...

What fun! I am a Jeannie...even to wearing socks to bed in winter! lol Never ate goat; don't drink but would LOVE the gift card...love to read and could find lots of books to buy!

chey said...

I'm a Jeannie.

Jeannie Watt said...

Yay, Jackie S and Chey! Welcome aboard!

JV--Ground hog. Oh. My. I suppose it could be likened to rabbit, but still...I think that would scar me, too.

Ellen--I don't need help from the internet. I just happen to know a golden opportunity when I see one. Like double Kays.

Jeannie Watt said...

All you Raylan fans, I believe Justified season three debuts tonight. I can't wait.

Kay Stockham said...

LOL I know I didn't do it so my evil twin must have. ;)

Kay - who just remembered I have a pic of me from childhood at the Track & Field Day where I'm wearing tube socks

Ellen Hartman said...

Hi JV,

All good Ellens must be able to answer question 12 correctly. To help you study, I offer this link: Dean Winchester.

I knew we'd be simpatico! Fist bump.

Ellen Hartman said...

Hi Summer,

I may be tempted to take a peek at this Raylan person after today.

Go Team E!

Ellen Hartman said...

Hi Cathryn,

The funny thing is that this whole idea grew out of an email with the subject line Brain Dead. We were having trouble figuring out what to blog about. A few brainstorming messages and then...this. Hee.

I love the percentages. We need some color-coded pie charts.

Anonymous said...

LOL, you two are a hoot. Even hootier when you're together. :-) Sorry, ladies, but we have another tie here. I appreciate the link, Ellen, because I have to admit I had no clue who Dean Winchester was. Still don't, but at least I know what he looks like now. Second favorite ABBA song for the tiebreaker? Mine is Waterloo. :-)

Snookie said...

OK, I got 7 Js and 7 Es and that's including the bonus. So I guess I'm a little like both of you :). I use to be an early riser (still am though more reluctantly now) and always was late to bed (think age is catching up and I need more than 5 hrs of sleep a night!). I'm way more at home in shorts and t-shirts (it's warm here most of the time) or blue jeans and old clothes. Grew up on a farm so know all about fixing barbed wire fences and looking for missing cows and horses (being chased by cows too). I like big animals, though we do have a duck, turtles and 1 of our 4 dogs that are under 30 lbs. I hate shopping! Grocery shopping is a real chore, the only kind of shopping I like is buying books :) and now I'm doing more of it online. I like most kinds of music, but prefer Hawaiian, 60 and 70s rock, folk and country. I think this was an interesting quiz :)

Jeannie Watt said...

Hi Kathy--Now I'm singing Waterloo. It won't go away, lol.
I was defeated, you won the war...
Okay I have you down as a tie--at least until we hear Ellen say, "Waterloo? No way!"

Snookie--You've let the most interesting life. I know not many people equate Hawai'i with ranching and farming. When I was a kid, I read about ranching on the big island and was fascinated. It seemed the best of everything. Cowboys, horses and an island.

Unknown said...

Well I was more Jeannie then Ellen, can't say I like High heels though. I do love me some cowboy books though they are my favorite. I will take pasta over goat anyday.

Snookie said...

LOL, I posted then went through the posts. You guys are a riot. And I've eaten goat. Not sure if I had any at any weddings though. It tastes good bbq'd or smoked. :) Growing up in a multi-ethnic culture I've probably eaten a lot of things many of you haven't though. I also wear socks to bed when it's cold and my feet are like ice cubes, but they never stay on my feet. After a few hours, they're lost in the bed somewhere! Overall, I'm probably more like Jeannie except I hate shopping and I hate high heels (except on cowboy boots) :)

Jeannie Watt said...

Virginia--I almost wrote a cowboy boot question, but it turned into the I work best under pressure question. We already had one shoe question. Anyway, glad you're like me. The scales are slowly tipping...

Jeannie Watt said...

You're right, Snookie--socks leave the feet after a couple hours and float around in the bed until they pop out one of the sides or on the end. Goat is pretty popular here, too.

Jeannie Watt said...

J--11 (counting Kay's evil twin)

Jane said...

I'm more like Ellen, but I'm not sure about my tastes in music running towards pop.

Ellen Hartman said...

Hi emmad!

We on the E Team can allow a few Js. I have to admit, I'm tempted by the stoic cowboy books, myself.

I also can admire the art of high heels, but I object to the idea of them as footwear.

Team E!

Ellen Hartman said...

I think the Internet would have collapsed if you'd turned out to be an Ellen. Perhaps it was protecting itself by creating your not-evil twin. (I refuse to believe even the Internet can craft and Evil Kay.)

Go forth and be a happy Jeannie. I salute you!

Ellen Hartman said...

A tie is a very nice thing. I'm all for ties. Although you might want to look at that link I left for JV. There's still time to join Team Dean...I mean, Team Ellen.

Ellen Hartman said...

It's looking more and more like a tie. We might have to shake your answer out of you.

Or...maybe you are open to a bribe? I'll send you a private message and we can see. Muhwahaha.

Ellen Hartman said...

Hi Kaelee,

I love your guitar story yesterday. Very nice.

Figures you're an Ellen. :-)

I'm a bit concerned about the dark beer. I'm more of a wheat beer girl, but I can work with this!

Ellen Hartman said...

All right. Team Dean is good, even if you're still Team Jeannie.

I saw that flaw in the cowboy vs. single dad question. I will freely admit I like my single dads even better when they're cowboys. :-)

Ellen Hartman said...

I'm trying to decide if now is the right time to admit I have eaten barbecued goat.

I went to a Goat Cook Off one time. It was in Philadelphia, of all places, but the cook was from Texas.

I'm quite sure the goat was enough for me--groundhog would be too much!

(And the main point is, goats do not remind me of my wedding.)

Ellen Hartman said...

Jackie--I'm with you. I love to read and I'd love a nice gift card. :-)

Ellen Hartman said...

Chey--Team Jeannie is my second-favorite team. :-)

Kathy--Hmmm. I love Waterloo. But there's always "Take a Chance on Me." Choosing just one is hard.

Ellen Hartman said...

Snookie--I like cowboy boots. Don't really care if they're high-heels, I just like them. Nice!

Virginia--You cracked me up. I will also take pasta over goat, if given the choice.

Ellen Hartman said...

Hi Jane,

Team E!

I like lots of other kinds of music, too. I really like anything that has a story. The Biebs just happens to have been my most recent purchase.

Ellen Hartman said...

Jeannie--I say we count until the next blog turns up.

P.S. I'll know if you monkey with the posting schedule. That fake Kay ploy has your finger prints all over it.

Helen Artman said...

Oh look, a quiz! What a surprise!

I haven't enjoy a post on this site so much since I tried to win that lovely Abby Gaines book way back in December.

Since I didn't win then, maybe I will be luckier with the gift card.

I answered all of the questions and am most definitely an Ellen. (Imagine that!)

Jeannie Watt said...

Helen--please go back and double check your answers. :-D

And Ellen--I had nothing to do with Kay's twin. Much.

Jeannie Watt said...

Ellen--I love that you've eaten goat and I haven't. But I do have a lovely photo of a skinned out goat hanging above the kitchen table with my mother and my husband's mother having coffee under it when they met for the first time. His mother worked in a restaurant forever and my mother used to help butcher every hunting season, so neither of them seemed to think a thing of it.

Kimberly Van Meter said...

Holy crap that's a funny quiz! I cheated though and just read the answers and laughed my ass off with each one. Genius!! Thanks for the afternoon giggle.

Victoria Curran said...

Okay, Helen Artman's reply put me over the edge! I read your quiz but I couldn't take it because I was too busy deciding which author matched which answer. Think I got just about all of them... (Maybe not the socks.)

Jeannie Watt said...

Kim--You cheated! I'm shocked!...not. Great to see you here!

Jeannie Watt said...

Victoria! I'm glad you're here. Now it's imperative that you take the quiz because I'm losing! Think power point and you'll know who you really are.

Kay Stockham said...

I dunno. I kinda like the idea of an evil Kay. Good Kay gets really tired of being good all the time. Evil Kay could have some fun. LOL

Victoria, you're on here late tonight! I hope you're not still working but surfing the net and having some fun.

Ellen Hartman said...

Kim--your answer is so perfectly you.

Ha. Glad you had a laugh. With all of your deadline craziness, you needed it!

Ellen Hartman said...

Dear Jeannie,

You should be more welcoming to Helen. I'm sure her answers were exactly right the first time through.

In fact, I am 100% positive she answered correctly.

Ellen Hartman said...

Hi Victoria,

I'm with Evil Kay--you better be off the clock. :-)

The sock issue is confusing. Ignore the socks and focus on the GOAT and DEAN WINCHESTER.

That's where the money is.

Linda Warren said...

Sorry Ellen. I'm more like Jeannie, except for the goat and high heels.

What fun!!

Na said...

Turns out I'm a Jeannie and I like the analysis. I do like classic rock even songs that are not from my generation. However, I am very comfortable with technology.

Jeannie Watt said...

Kay--are you sure you're not triplets? Because I could use the extra vote. As it is, your evil twin's vote stands as part of the count.

Linda--I'm glad to hear you're with me. The goat is a shaky matter indeed. Ellen wrote the goat question, you know. Now I know why.

Jeannie Watt said...

Yay, Na! Glad you took the quiz. I adore classic rock--even the stuff before my time. And I'm getting a bit more comfortable with technology all the time--probably because the teens left home. Thanks for posting.

Jeannie Watt said...

Jeannie--13 (unless Kay is a triplet--then we're tied)

Ellen Hartman said...

Linda--what's left of Jeannie after you subtract the heels and the goat? Getting up at the crack of dawn? You may want to rethink this.

Oh wait, it's the cowboys isn't it? I get it. Okay. You bring us the good cowboys so I guess I'll let this go.

Ellen Hartman said...

A Jeannie is a very good person to be.

Ellen Hartman said...

I'm glad you're keeping track because I'm way out of my depth here.

I'm sure you've got all the votes (including Helen's) marked down properly.

Jeannie Watt said...

...what's left of Jeannie after you subtract the heels and the goat? Getting up at the crack of dawn?

An appreciation for cowboys and a thirst for dark beer, that's what. Sheesh.

And yes, I am keeping track. I started a running list early this morning and Helen is in the wrong camp--er--on your side. At least until I hear back from her after the retake.

*yawn* Getting to be that time. Don't you dare get that Twister mat out again.

Cheryl said...

I'm mostly like Jeannie but only by a smidge . . . I had 9 answers like Jeannie's and 7 answers that match Ellen's. That was such fun!

Kathleen O said...

i am a Jeannie, but I had a couple of C answers, so they could have gone either way...But some of those "Jeannie" traits, are just not me.. really
This was so much fun...

Ellen Hartman said...

Cheryl and Kathleen, you both enjoyed the quiz. Maybe you'd like to take it again and change one or two of your answers?

Just a thought.

I wonder if my mom is still awake. She likes quizzes.

Jeannie Watt said...

Cheryl and Kathleen--Thank you so much for posting!

I'll do a final tally in the morning, just in case some night owls check in--mothers, people like that.

Until then, signing off...

linda s said...

I am just a smidge an Ellen but 1 vote counts... Thanks for a great post and a big laugh.

Debra Salonen said...

I'm a Jeannie, but I love Ellen. Does that help? But my only goat dining experience did not turn out well, so I'm on the fence with that one. And Raylan gives cool new meaning. He's my guy.

Ellen, if you don't win, I'll buy you a beer at our next conference.

Great post today, ladies.

Mary Preston said...

I am so border line it's scary. It would appear that I have a split personality.

I'm clearly deeply indecisive - I got 7E and 7J!

Diana Holquist said...

Who won?!? (I need to know who to suck up to for free beer!)

Ellen Hartman said...

Hmm. No one is the winner, yet. We said we'd keep the scoring open until the next blog goes up.

Could someone have "gotten to" Linda Styles? She's the scheduled blogger today, I think.

Linda S. THANK YOU. You're the last woman standing between me and a bar bill. Way to go!

DEB! IF I DON'T WIN, it will be because you showed up in the middle of the night and voted for Jeannie. I'm not sure I can forgive this. :-)

(That's not true. You're obviously a Jeannie and I love that about you.)

Ellen Hartman said...

Marybelle and Pageturner,

Thanks for playing along with the quiz. Even bigger thanks for being so cleverly, perfectly, evenly split.

Jeannie Watt said...

I wake up to a tie. Yay! (A win if I count Kay's evil twin.)

Deb--Of course you're on Team Jean. And Raylan is the man, isn't he? Excellent first episode of Justified last night. The table cloth slayed me.

Linda S--One vote does count. The goat again, right?

Marybelle and pageturner--a split personality and deeply indecisive...uh, that could be either of us.

Diana--You can suck up to me at beer time. I'm sniffing the sweet scent of underdog victory.

And I have nothing to do with the delayed blog post, Ellen.

Ellen Hartman said...

A tie!

Is it really a tie? How totally perfect is that?

Thanks so much to everyone who stopped by and took the quiz and kept me entertained for an entire day. What fun.

Jeannie--so happy Superromance introduced us!

Next time we meet up, I'll follow you around Macy's and then we can have that beer. Deb and Chelle are buying. Or was that Rula? Kristina? I can't remember. :-)

Ellen Hartman said...

Also, because I like analysis...

Interesting that your Achilles heel was barbecued goat and mine, I suspect, was Justin Bieber.

I wonder what that says about us.

...Maybe we should do another quiz.

Jeannie Watt said...

Another quiz it is. Say Juneish?

Thanks everyone who posted. This is the most fun I've had in quite a spell.

And to all the Jeannies out there--thanks for stopping by. I know there were more of us, but we procrastinated until it was too late to vote.

Cheers everyone and a tip of the hat to my buddy Ellen for a great day.

Kay Stockham said...

I think my evil twin should be part of the next quiz. Think of what fun that could be. ;)

Congrats to the tie! I was about to split into a 3rd Kay.

Jlouharris said...

Ah yes, I remember my own uneven bar days. I am more of a Jeannie for sure. My best plot problem solving comes when walking my country rode, preferably not in Hugh heels and not chased by a bull or wild turkey.

Jeannie Watt said...

Ah, yes. The Jeannie's are trickling in. Better late than never, lol.

JLouHarris--I was once adopted by a wild turkey! He followed me around the yard and peeked into the windows at me when I was in the house. Very odd. The dog finally chased him off. Anyway, there is nothing like a walk on a country to road to clear the mental roadblocks.

Kay--I know you would have come up with a triplet if I'd needed it. As is the Jeannie's are showing up, so I won't need her.

Laura Russell said...

Couldn't resist this quiz-- more Ellen than Jeanie. A lot of fun!
