Usually, I just go to RWA Nationals, but with three books out from three different names in April and May of this year, I figured I'd better punch up the publicity :) And I'm really glad I did. This year's RT was a lot more relaxed than the RWA conferences I usually go to. I got to wear my comfortable shoes :) and spend a lot of time just hanging out with my writing friends as well as a bunch of readers and librarians, which was totally cool. Plus, I went to a number of really great panels-- the talent in L.A. is awesome and I loved that so many fabulous and famous writers showed up at RT!!!!
One of my favorite panels was the one led by Melissa Marr on Feminism in YA novels (go figure-- I'm not a feminist lit professor for nothing, LOL). The panel was packed with smart women talking about creating strong and intelligent female characters-- how could I go wrong? I also went to one on writing across genres and formats that was interesting. And Dean Koontz's speech was amazing!
So, since I had such a great time at RT, I thought I'd share a couple fun pictures from my time in L.A. This first one is of me with Beth Kery and Jill Sorenson, two writers that I love!
I did a panel on writing emotional love scenes with the fabulous Beth Kery, Helen Kay Dimon, Lauren Dane and Megan Hart :)
And here's a picture of me signing at the huge booksigning on Saturday. I always sit next to the amazing and talented Veronica Wolff (since we share a last name) and we always have a great time chatting and catching up on each other's writing and lives :)
So now you know what I did last week ;) Tell me something fun that you did and be entered to win a copy of Deserving of Luke, my April Superromance, which is on sale today, and a copy of Hidden Embers, my dragon paranormal writing as Tessa Adams, that went on sale last week. Have a great Tuesday :)

Hi Tracy. I love your photos. The RT convention sounds like a fun time. Last week, I visited my best friend and we spent hours talking about books. We always have a lot of fun together.
I went to the dentist and had some teeth drilled - but I'm pretty sure that's nobody's idea of fun. It's very sad but I can barely remember anything else from last week! Maybe having a glass of champagne and watching the Formula One counts.
I'd have loved to hear the panel on feminism in YA. It's not that those teen heroines need to burn their bras, but it's definitely an issue that needs to be addressed, considered the current trends in the genre.
Sounds like you had a terrific time. I'm slightly envious because I hear its a cool place for everyone who loves books and I kinda wanted to go. Maybe I'll make it one year.
Hmm...last week wasn't so much fun as it was tiring. I did go to our school's silent auction - Boots and Bandanas - and won a $50.00 gift card to Newks (Mississippi and Louisiana chain) and a car detail, oil change and tire rotation. I also get to pick out a car from the lot to tool around in while they do the work, so I'm thinking a convertible. Guess that was kind of fun.
Thanks for sharing :)
Fun last week???? I read some fantastic books one of which was by an author named Tracy Wolff ~ it was Deserving Luke. And I walked along the waterfront watching the birds and people ~ some of who were kite surfing. Boy do I sound boring!!!
And since I already have Deserving Luke don't enter me in the contest.
Hi Tracy,
Thanks for sharing your great pictures. My fun is all ahead. Last week I sat in a major traffic jam after our big storm and the downed power lines closed a major freeway for 12 hours. Tomorrow I am going to a Toad the Wet Sprocket concert. They are a musical group from my hometown. Then next week, we are going to Hershey, PA for my daughter's Spring Break and I am looking forward to eating chocolate!
We have a Federal election in Canada right now,so I am spending most of my free time volunteering for a local candidate. It is something that I have been doing since I was 17. I have a wonderful time and get to make lots of fabulous friends.
Sounds like everyone in LA had a great time. I mostly relaxed last week, still recovering from being sick that week before. But I did read some good books, so thats fun!
Well, last week didn't do anything fun! Now the week before, that's a whole nother story!! Was in New Orleans from March 26 - Apr.1 Had a great time in that lovely city!!

I played mixed doubles in a badminton tournament. We lost to the top seeded team in our second round of the "A" (but it was close), and we went on to win the "B" event.
We had great spring weather here and I was busy in the garden doing much needed work as well as enjoying the sunshine with my family!
Tracy, sounds like a blast. I have RT LA envy!
Love all the smiles, so glad you had a great time.
Last week was spring planting time, and I filled all my empty flower pots with gorgeous spring flowers.

Crystal, isn't that fun? My best friend from high school drove up on Friday and we spent Friday and part of Saturday together. I loved it!
Sonya, Ugh. So sorry. That was my life in November and December of last year :(
Liz, You should definitely go! It was so laid back and relaxed. Exactly what I needed as I'm totally fried from the whole three books in five weeks thing.
EllenToo, Thanks so much! Can I enter you for a different book, maybe? I'm glad you enjoyed D of Luke.
Tammy, squee!!!! I love Toad the Wet Sproket. You're from Santa Barbara??? One of their dad's was my professor, way back when ....
AlbertaJenn, good for you! Hope your candidate wins :)
DonnaS, glad you're feeling better!
Oh Martha, now I'm jealous. I love New Orleans-- went to grad school at Tulane many moons ago ;)
Laney4, congrats!
Rogenna, sorry. But it was a blast!
And Cathy, send some of those flowers my way :)
ClaudiaGC, the weather is great here too. I'm loving it!
Hmmm... last week Sunday we had friends and family over to celebrate 3 birthdays... that was lots of fun! Then I helped a friend by editing his master's thesis... glad that's done. Was an interesting thesis, but took a lot of time to edit :)
Your pictures are cool Tracy, it's always fun to check out pictures!
Hi Tracy,
Sounds like you had a great time in LA! My fun was doing some baking and reading a good book!
Tracy, my post tomorrow is also about RT. Great minds think alike, right? LOL. Actually, since is the only fun or interesting thing to happen in my life lately, what choice did I have?
Glad you enjoyed your first RT. I was pleasantly surprised by how mellow and beautiful downtown L.A. is. But getting there is another story. Ack!
More books to give away tomorrow, folks.
Deb
Wished I were at RT. I did some laundry and was looking for some of my warm weather clothes in the closet. Hope I'll have more fun this coming weekend.
Tracy, LA looks like loads of fun. I had all day Friday with my friend of 45 years! We sat outside in the sun, drank coffee & laughed at everything. It was a blast, we get together every couple of months. She brought me a Hugh bag of books and took me out to lunch. Great day for both of us.
Hello again, Tracy,
Yes, I am from Santa Barbara. I even went to UCSB. Which father was one of your professors? Dean Dinning (Toad's bass player) was my next door neighbor growing up. But, I actually liked Toad before I realized he was in it. (He was a bit younger than I!!) And, squee you love Toad. No one at my work has ever heard of them.
Hi Tracy! Sounds like you guys had fun at RT. I wish I could have gone. Instead I spent the week reading and avoiding cleaning house, lol! I read 9 books in a week and a half. Thanks for sharing your fun pics.
Have a wonderful day!!!
Hi Tracy, RT looks like a ball. While you were there the fun I had...hmm...wasn't as much as you all looked as if you were having.
I'm boring, I made soft pretzels last week! They were a big hit at work, though. Maybe I should start selling to pay for my book addiction!!
Thanks,
Tracey D

I started our new Garden with my daughter! It's our first home and the first time we've ever had any "real" yard to speak of, so we have a great time planning!
Thanks!

I don't have a "cool" answer for this, but my favorite boy band of the past twenty something years released a new song last week, a duet with another boy band, and my inner twelve year old had fun with that.
Didn't have much fun last week except to find a few more websites from various author groups.
Last night was fun as I met the newest member of my extended family ~ a Havanese Shih Tzu Yorkie cross 2 pound 3 month old puppy at my niece place. Poor pup was trying to get used to being without mom and his siblings in a house with three kids and all their noisy friends. He's a real cutie named Zorback. I'm looking forward to seeing him often.
Tracy it is nice of you to think of offering me another of your books if My name is drawn but....
I have read all of your Supers and I don't read the other types of books you write.
Comment from Marcie (who Blogger sign-in isn't liking this week)
hmmm...something fun? Read a couple books over the weekend. That's always fun.
Question - I understand why authors use different names for different genres, but why didn't you use Tracy or Tessa and just change the last name?
Marcie
I just enjoyed the beautiful weather...being outside with the hummingbirds...and reading!!
I was going to say I didn't do anything fun last week but on Sunday I did go and visit my son at his college so that was kind of nice. Did try to get a little reading in but didn't have much time.
I spent last week getting everything organized since I am having surgery tomorrow. Got most of it done.
We had a wet weather day so I got out the recipe book & cooked up a storm. I'm not a fan of cooking but this was the perfect activity.

Unfortunately, no fun for me in recent memory. I've been working on taxes (or trying to). Ugh! It always stresses me completely out, plus I don't get in my daily allotment of reading because I'm too busy running around like a maniac due to my own procrastination. However, I finished our taxes this morning and am working on our daughter's now. So better times are ahead! Glad you enjoyed the conference!
Tracy, the fun thing I did was read all the blogs about RT. Thanks for posting pics. And I love your hair incidentally!
